Marlene was taking in contract work as a seamstress. At a cloth store she met a man that was buying supplies to make a blanket. He asked some questions and they discussed what he was doing. He was taking kids uniforms and turning them into blankets. He had very little sewing experience and needed someone who did in order to improve the quality of his work. We partnered with him in That's My Blanket. Many of you met us at shows and tournaments under this name.
After five years of developing clientele, improving quality and expanding our product line, our partner wanted to step out of the business. Marlene and I decided that business was booming and we felt it still has a lot of potential for growth. We closed down That's My Blanket and reopened as The Blanket Guy. In reality, our clientele picked our new name for us. Every time I would show up at an event, those of you who had seen us before would say, "Oh! You're the blanket guy!" So I and our little logo character are now The Blanket Guy officially.
As The Blanket Guy, you will see the same quality in craftsmanship as you did before. Marlene did the bulk of the sewing then and is doing so now. I'll continue to work on the designs and sales with some apprenticing in preparation. Our time to return your items was often slower than we desired as That's My Blanket. Since it all falls solely on us now, The Blanket Guy will renew its commitment to improve our turn around time while maintaining the same high standards of quality.
We are delighted you are considering using The Blanket Guy to preserve your memories. We are confident you will like the change!
