As husband and wife we enjoy doing a variety of things together. Even though we each have our own interests, we have made it a point to be involved with each other's activities. This has been a blessing to us as it keeps us close as well as it has expanded each of our horizons. As parents of five grown children we feel that this habit has taught our children the value of team work as well as the valuable lesson of thinking outside your own world.
Marlene Blume
Originally from the Chicago area, Marlene moved to Texas at the age of 17. She says she may have been born a Yankee, but she got to Texas as quick as she could. But she still calls it a Barbie "dahl". She started off working in a large corporation in Customer Service and worked her way up into management. Currently, she is working in a payroll company and oversees the accounts of several clients. Ever resourceful, she taught herself to sew at an early age in order to have the clothes she wanted. That expanded into draperies, bedding, gowns, hand-quilting and just about anything she decides she wants to assemble.
David Blume
Born and raised in Texas, I'm not sure how I married a Yankee. But it is the best thing that has ever happened to me! I've worked hard and have managed to groom Marlene into quite the Southern Belle. I have worked a variety of different jobs and am currently an automation engineer at a corporation in the Dallas area. In my spare time I enjoy working with wood. Anything from home remodeling to cabinetry, boxes and decorative pieces and antique furniture restoration.
